Polygon UK is seeking a highly skilled Financial Controller to lead the Financial Control function across the UK. This is a pivotal role focused on governance, compliance, process optimisation, and driving continuous improvement across our finance operations.

About the Role

As Financial Controller, you will take ownership of financial controls, accounting processes, compliance, and reporting across the UK business. You will work closely with the CFO and the wider Finance Leadership Team to enhance processes, strengthen controls, and ensure accurate, timely financial information.

This role requires strong technical expertise, excellent communication, and a proactive approach to refining systems and processes.

Key Responsibilities

Financial Control & Compliance

Lead the Financial Control function across Polygon UK Maintain and optimise internal financial controls, policies, and processes Ensure full compliance in all financial control areas Ongoing validation, posting, and reporting of contract assets Responsibility for accounts receivable and accounts payable processes

Management Accounts & Reporting

Oversee monthly P&L, balance sheet, indirect cash flow and associated reporting Ensure robust balance sheet reconciliations Build strong relationships with group accounting teams to ensure timely reporting Lead the annual budget process and support regular forecasting activities

Cash Flow & Treasury

Manage weekly cash position reporting and rolling 13-week cashflow forecasts Support treasury processes and ensure strong financial governance

Audit & Governance

Play a key role in the annual audit, ensuring a smooth and timely process Provide information, explanations, and documentation to auditors

Continuous Improvement & Collaboration

Work with the Finance Leadership Team to streamline processes and share best practice Drive simplification and efficiency through technology and process improvement Provide guidance and support to colleagues on finance matters Support the CFO with ad hoc projects and strategic initiatives

Skills & Attributes We're Looking For

Qualifications & Experience

ACA, ACCA, CIMA qualified (or QBE with strong experience) Experience as a Financial Controller or similar senior finance role Strong technical knowledge of P&L, balance sheet, and indirect cash flow reporting Experience in short-term cashflow forecasting Working knowledge of VAT principles Familiarity with inventory accounting is beneficial
