Overview:
We are a dynamic and growing 10m turnover recruitment business based in London, seeking a commercially astute and hands-on Financial Controller (FC). This is a top-to-bottom FC role suited to someone who enjoys rolling up their sleeves while also influencing at a senior level. You will lead on all aspects of finance, take ownership of reporting, and be a key business partner to leadership.
Key Responsibilities:
Full ownership of the day-to-day finance function, including management of month-end and year-end processes.
Lead in reporting, analysis, and presenting financial data to the board and stakeholders.
Preparation of monthly management accounts and commentary.
Oversight of cash flow forecasting, budgeting, and financial planning.
Manage statutory accounts and liaise with external auditors and tax advisors.
Ensure robust financial controls and compliance with accounting standards.
Partner with department heads to provide commercial insight and support strategic decision-making.
Identify areas for efficiency improvements and lead on financial systems/process enhancements.
Manage and mentor a small finance team (if applicable).
About You:
Fully qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA) - essential.
Experience in a recruitment or professional services environment - a must.
Strong technical accounting background with a commercial mindset.
Confident presenting data and insights to senior stakeholders.
Comfortable operating in a standalone or small-team setting.
Proficient in Excel and financial systems, with a high level of accuracy and attention to detail.
Proactive, self-motivated, and solutions-oriented.
