The Finance function operates at the heart of Rapha as a multi-functional, business facing department. Rapha is dynamic and we are looking for an individual who is happy to get into the details to support the business and continue our growth as a world class omni-channel retailer.

THE ROLE




As the Financial Controller, you will play a vital role in leading key areas of the finance function, overseeing management accounting, finance operations and financial compliance/reporting teams. You will ensure accurate and timely financial information is reported to the Board and key stakeholders while driving continuous improvement across our global operations.

RESPONSIBILITIES



Management and Financial Reporting



Deliver management and statutory reporting across multiple entities, currencies and geographies Manage the month end close processes for UK, Europe, APAC and Group Support HOF in production of monthly and quarterly board reporting Responsible for balance sheet integrity Review and challenge cost centre performance with budget holders Drive simplification, standardisation and continuous improvement of processes and controls to achieve effective financial reporting and operational processes

Tax and Compliance



Manage year-end audit process and liaise with external auditors globally Oversee tax compliance including VAT, corporation tax and other territory requirements Ensure compliance with FRS 102 and other relevant accounting standards Support transfer pricing documentation and intercompany processes Support the HOF with group tax planning and policy updates as required Key point of contact for statutory audit of UK and Group entities Manage regional outsourced provider relationships to ensure compliance and value for money

Financial Operations



Take a leading role in ERP optimisation or implementation projects, ensuring the function scales with the business Work closely with the Commercial Controller and Tech team to ensure source data from other systems is correctly reflected in finance systems according to relevant accounting standards. Manage the annual insurance renewal and key point of contact for broker requests and queries

Business Partnering



Proactively builds relationships across the business Advise the business on risks and opportunities that present themselves and suitable courses of action to mitigate Prepare reports and ad-hoc analysis for presentation to business stakeholders and external parties Ability to explain technical accounting to non-finance teams in order to develop and support them

Team Management & Leadership



Support the Head of Finance and Commercial Controller in the leadership of the finance function Deputise for Head of Finance as appropriate Line management of Finance team members Set clear objectives and provide regular feedback and coaching Identify development opportunities and support career progression Ensure appropriate workload distribution and succession planning

THE CANDIDATE




The ideal candidate will have the following skills and qualities:

ACA, ACCA, CIMA or equivalent qualification At least 3 years post-qualified experience with at least 1 year in industry (preferably retail) Working knowledge of regulatory and/or tax regimes in UK, EU and US Experience managing audit and statutory reporting across a multi entity structure Strong commercial and analytical mindset Proficiency in working in a fast-paced, complex, dynamic, global business environment Advanced Excel skills and experience working with large data sets eg high volume transactional data Excellent verbal and written communication skills Strong organisational skills; ability to manage multiple projects in an efficient way Ability to work under pressure and to tight timelines Energetic, excited to learn with a growth mindset Flexible approach to work, acting in the best interest of the business An interest in cycling and the business culture is an advantage
