The Tofoo Co in just 9 years has become the UK market leader in tofu & turnover has increased from 600k to 28 million and now employs more than 150 people.

We are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Financial Controller to oversee and manage the financial operations of the business. This is a key role responsible for the preparation of management accounts, statutory reporting, and ensuring robust financial controls are in place. Tax knowledge is advantageous but not essential.

Key Responsibilities

Preparation of monthly management accounts with detailed analysis and commentary.

Maintain the company's asset register and depreciation postings.

Lead on the production of statutory accounts in accordance with UK GAAP.

Manage the year-end audit process and liaise with external auditors.

Ensure the accuracy and integrity of the general ledger and supporting sub-ledgers.

Maintain and develop internal financial controls and procedures.

Oversee budgeting and forecasting processes.

Support cash flow management and reporting.

Ensure compliance with all financial regulations and reporting deadlines.

Provide financial insights and support to senior management for strategic decision-making.

Liaise with tax advisors and HMRC where required.

To support colleagues with ad-hoc work.

Required Skills & Experience

Qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA or equivalent). Proven experience in a financial controller or senior finance role. Strong knowledge of UK accounting standards and statutory reporting. Proficiency in preparing and interpreting management accounts. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills. Excellent attention to detail and organisational skills. Advanced Excel skills. Effective communication and leadership skills. Experience in working with external auditors. Tax experience or understanding is beneficial but not essential.
