Field Based (Norfolk, Cambridgeshire, Milton Keynes area)

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Financial Controller to join our team based out of one of our locations in either Norfolk or Cambridgeshire. This role reports to the Finance Director and your responsibilities will include:

  • To oversee the production of monthly management accounts and balance sheet reconciliations in accordance with Manufacturer and legislative requirements.
  • To act as the lead point of contact for Thurlow Nunn for external audit queries.
  • To produce information to support others in maintaining optimum profitability.
  • To advise managers of performance against KPI\xe2\x80\x99s and focus improvement opportunities where appropriate
  • Producing periodic financial reports
  • Ensuring a system of accounting records
  • Maintaining the company\xe2\x80\x99s general ledger
  • Producing a comprehensive set of budgets and controls
  • Assisting with external audit work
  • Overseeing all accounting functions within the business
  • Review of accruals and prepayments to ensure all monthly postings to the P&L are accurate
  • Ensuring financial reports are properly prepared & all accounts are documented correctly
  • Supporting the operations team with finance review of sites within your region
  • Provide finance support and expertise for the sites in your region
To be successful in this role you will need:
  • Experience gained in a multi-site or group structure would be beneficial.
  • Able to work on their own initiative and as part of a team.
  • Strong accounting acumen coupled with excellent communication skills \xe2\x80\x93 allowing effectively interacting with people at all levels of the business
  • Experienced automotive accountant with proven team management skills
  • Good analytical skills are essential
  • Month end & year end analysis
  • Ideally with a recognised AAT, CIMA or ACCA accounting qualification
  • Ability to work under pressure & to meet deadlines & targets
  • Previous management accountant experience within the motor trade environment
  • Excellent numerical skills
  • High level of accuracy and attention to detail
  • A flexible \xe2\x80\x98can do\xe2\x80\x99 attitude,
  • Competence in Microsoft packages and Pinewood system
In return we offer the opportunity of a salary of up to \xc2\xa385K OTE dependant on experience along with the use of a company car. Working 39 hours per week, this role offers hybrid working, 2 days minimum onsite at base office with travel to other sites within Norfolk, Cambridgeshire and Milton Keynes areas and home working.
