Job Description

Location: Office-based, with scope for hybrid working (West Haddon, Northants NN7 6NY)

Hours: Part-time, 3 days per week - work pattern is negotiable (core business hours are 9am-5.30pm, Monday-Friday)

Salary: 60,000-75,000 pro rata dependent upon experience

Reports to: Director of Operations

Line management responsibility: Not initially, but this may change as the business evolves. The FC will also be responsible for overseeing relations with our trusted external colleagues.

Who are we?



CTSG is a fast-growing, values-led business in the security engineering sector, and we're looking for an experienced Financial Controller to provide the stability, clarity, and insight we need as we continue to scale. This is a new and pivotal post, created to facilitate the maturity of the finance function whilst actively supporting rapid organisational change.

The Financial Controller will take ownership of the company's financial management and controls, ensuring robust financial planning, analysis, and risk management. They will enhance cashflow forecasting, oversee budget creation and departmental allocation, support strategic financial decision-making, and strengthen banking and treasury operations.

In this role, you will:



Deliver accurate and timely management accounts, budgets, forecasts, and cash flow reports Track performance, analyse variances, and provide clear, actionable insight to leadership Ensure robust internal controls and compliance with statutory, tax, and audit requirements Strengthen financial processes and leverage technology to improve efficiency Act as a trusted advisor to leaders throughout the business, translating numbers into decisions Support the organisation through restructuring and future growth

What we're looking for:



Someone who holds a CIMA Certificate (or above) oris qualified to AAT Level 4 (or Level 3 with significant post-qualification experience) - or someone who can demonstrate equivalent capability Proven ability to lead the finance function within a growing SME Strong background in financial reporting, forecasting, and compliance Experience navigating corporate restructuring, and/or transformation A hands-on, practical and adaptable approach, suited to a fast-scaling business Commerciality, with the confidence and clarity to explain financials to non-finance colleagues Proficiency in MS Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint) and Xero Experience in construction, engineering, or a related sector (desirable)
