Job Summary:
The Financial Controller is responsible for overseeing the financial operations of the company, ensuring accurate financial reporting, maintaining internal controls, and supporting strategic financial planning. This role plays a key part in budgeting, forecasting, compliance, and financial analysis to support business decision-making.
Key Responsibilities:
Systems & Processes:
Optimize financial systems and processes for efficiency and scalability. Ensure adequate cover with reconciliations to ensure data integrity and accuracy.
Financial Analysis:
Own the preparation of the Monthly Investor and Board Reporting suite. Provide insightful analysis of financial results, trends, and KPIs to support business decisions.
Cash Flow Management:
Monitor cash flow, manage working capital, and oversee treasury functions. Prepare rolling 12 month and 13 week cash flow forecasts at entity and group consolidated level.
Budgeting & Forecasting:
Coordinate and own the annual budgeting process and provide regular forecasts to support strategic planning. Provide regular updates on forecast vs actual results.
Team Leadership:
Manage and mentor the MI team, fostering a culture of continuous improvement and professional development. Ensure no key person dependency and holiday/ absence cover.
Financial Reporting:
Prepare timely and accurate monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements in accordance with accounting standards, best practices and operational control.
Internal Controls:
Develop and maintain robust internal controls to safeguard company assets and ensure compliance with regulatory requirements.
Compliance:
Coordinate with external Accountants and ensure compliance with tax laws, financial regulations, and company policies. Ensure internal Compliance policies and processes are adhered to. Submit quarterly and half yearly FCA submissions for Regulated Products.
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field (Master's or MBA preferred)
CIMA, ACCA, ACA or equivalent professional qualification
Progressive experience in finance or accounting roles
Proficiency in financial software (Xero or QuickBooks)
Excellent analytical, leadership, and communication skills
