The Financial Controller role in the business services industry requires expertise in overseeing financial operations, ensuring compliance, and improving processes. This temporary position in Peterborough is ideal for a detail-oriented professional with a strong background in accounting and finance.

• Financial Management & Reporting - Oversee daily operations of the finance and accounting department and prepare timely and accurate monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements
• Job Costing & Project Accounting - Coordinate with project managers to track and forecast costs, billing, and margins (WIP)
• Budgeting & Forecasting - Budgeting & Forecasting ( also modelling work)
• Lead the annual budgeting process and mid-year reforecasts
• Team Leadership - Supervise and mentor accounting staff (e.g., AR/AP clerks, accountants)

A successful Financial Controller should have:

• A professional qualification in accounting or finance.
• Experience in a project based environment
• Strong technical knowledge of financial reporting and compliance standards.

• The ability to work effectively under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
• Proficiency in financial software and tools.
• Advanced Excel
