The Mill at Sonning Theatre is a dinner-theatre located in Sonning Eye on the banks of the River Thames. The theatre is the only one of its kind in the UK, and has gained praise both nationally and internationally for over 30 years. With an elegant restaurant featuring views over the Thames and a self-sufficient operation, we are sustained purely by the Box Office patronage. The theatre seats 217 in the semi-round, providing an intimate atmosphere to make every performance memorable.

Role Description

This is a flexible working on-site role for an Accountant with The Mill at Sonning Theatre. The Accountant will be responsible for day-to-day bookkeeping and accounting tasks, including preparing financial statements, reconciling bank accounts, payroll and managing accounts payable and receivable. The Accountant will work closely with the theatre operations team in order to ensure that the books are accurate and up to date.

Qualifications

At least 5 years Experience in bookkeeping and accounting Must be able to produce accounts to trial balance stage and have good exposure to Sales, purchase, and Nominal Ledgers Proficiency in accounting software. Sage 50 or Xero Strong organisational skills and attention to detail. Must be able to meet reporting deadlines Ability to work independently and as part of a team Experience in the entertainment or hospitality industry is a plus Excellent written and verbal communication skills
