About the Role



We are seeking a forward-thinking

Financial Controller

to lead and strengthen our finance function during a dynamic phase of growth and innovation. This is a key leadership role in a fast-paced tech environment, responsible for establishing robust financial processes, driving strategic planning, and ensuring compliance across multiple geographies.

Reporting directly to the COO, you'll collaborate closely with the finance and people teams to build an infrastructure that supports scale, transparency, and innovation.

Key Responsibilities



Budgeting & Forecasting



Lead the annual budgeting process in collaboration with department heads Prepare and maintain rolling forecasts to support resource planning and decision-making Analyse performance against budget, highlighting variances and recommending actions

Financial Reporting & Analysis



Produce accurate and timely monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements Deliver actionable insights through reporting and trend analysis to senior leadership and stakeholders Continuously refine reporting tools and systems to improve efficiency and scalability

Compliance & Controls



Ensure compliance with financial, tax, and statutory regulations across the UK, US, Serbia, and other regions Establish and maintain strong internal controls and audit-readiness Support the preparation and successful completion of annual audits

Strategic Financial Projects



Lead financial modelling and scenario planning to support business strategy Monitor and optimize R&D tax relief opportunities Oversee equity and stock option tracking, ensuring compliance and clear record-keeping

About You



Must-Haves



ACA, ACCA, CIMA or equivalent qualification At least 5 years of progressive finance experience, including 2+ years in a Financial Manager or Controller role Strong technical accounting knowledge (IFRS or US GAAP) Proven experience with statutory reporting and audit preparation Excellent communication skills with the ability to influence stakeholders at all levels Highly organised and able to manage multiple priorities in a high-growth, remote-first environment Prior experience in a tech, SaaS, or startup context

Nice-to-Haves



Experience with international finance operations (e.g., UK, US, Serbia) Familiarity with stock option management and associated tax regulations Experience working with third-party finance providers
