are looking for a highly skilled and detail-oriented Financial Controller to assist our Directors. The ideal candidate will be responsible for financial reporting, budgeting, payments and ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements. This role requires proficiency in various accounting software, including Sage, and Eque 2, as well as a strong background in financial management. The ideal candidate will have knowledge of financial control within the construction industry.

Responsibilities

(Including but not Limited to)

-Payments for Subcontractors- adhering to HMRC CIS.

-Payments of proforma invoices - Adhering to Ascia Construction Purchasing/payment policy.

-Payment of Expenses - Record keeping of expenses and allocation to project.

-VAT return

-HMRC verification of subcontractors.

-HMRC CIS reporting.

-Subcontractor company insurances.

-Completing credit applications forms and setting up accounts

-Dealing with financial queries within Ascia Construction.

-Dealing with financial queries from external companies.

-Preparation of payment and salary runs for approval by Directors.

-Preparation of monthly management accounts and supporting reconciliations.

-Assist directors with WIP calculations and process into management accounts.

-Manage sales and purchase retentions and maintain reconciliations.

-Preparation of a management file for the auditors and liaise with them throughout the audit.

-Corporation tax estimates and reviewing quarterly payments.

-Manage sales and purchase deposits and maintain reconciliations.

-Maintain fixed asset registers and monthly postings.

-Maintain accruals and prepayments.

-Wages and PAYE reconciliations.

-Preparation of budgets and cashflows.

-General support to directors.

Experience

Proven experience as a Financial Controller or similar role within a dynamic business environment ideally construction.

Strong knowledge of accounting principles and practices, with hands-on experience using accounting software such as Sage, and Eque 2.

Strong organisational skills both written and verbal, familiarity with business principles and practices, superior attention to detail, organisational skills, planning skills, problems solving skills, analytical skills, critical thinking skills.

Experience of the construction industry

Qualifications - ACA/ACCA/CIMA

Due to the location of our offices, there is no public transport close to the offices and therefore we advise that any candidate should be able to drive and have their own vehicle.
