Job Overview


Goldcrest is a local, family run blind business based in Stirling looking to recruit a skilled and detail-oriented Financial Controller to join our dynamic finance team. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in the financial management of the organisation, ensuring accurate financial reporting and analysis. This position requires a strong understanding of accounting principles and practices, as well as proficiency in Excel, Sage Payroll and Sage Line 50. The Financial Controller will contribute to strategic decision-making through comprehensive financial insights.

Duties



Prepare and maintain accurate financial statements, reports, and forecasts. Prepare monthly management accounts for presentation to the Board of Directors. Oversee accounting processes to ensure accurate record-keeping. Utilise Sage accounting software for efficient financial management. Prepare and submit quarterly VAT returns. Prepare monthly payroll, including commission calculations, HMRC and pension submissions. Conduct regular financial analysis to identify trends, variances, and opportunities for improvement. Train junior finance staff and provide guidance on best practices in financial accounting. Collaborate with other departments to support budgeting and financial planning initiatives. Ensure compliance with relevant financial regulations and standards. Assist in the preparation of annual audits and liaise with external auditors as necessary.

Experience



Qualified accountant (CA/ACCA/CIMA) or qualified by experience. Proven experience in a similar role is essential, ideally within manufacturing sector. Strong knowledge of accounts processes and financial management principles. Proficiency in Sage accounting software, Sage payroll and Excel is essential. Demonstrated ability to train and develop junior staff members. Excellent analytical skills with attention to detail and accuracy. Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to present complex information clearly.
