Job Description
A growing and forward-thinking business based in Thirsk is currently recruiting for a Financial Controller to join their team on a permanent basis. On offer is a salary of up to 60,000, plus excellent benefits and the chance to help shape the future of the finance function.
As a Financial Controller, you will be:
- Overseeing the day-to-day running of the finance team, including direct reports
- Ensuring accurate and timely delivery of management and statutory accounts
- Leading the month-end and year-end close processes
- Supporting budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning activities
- Driving continuous improvement of financial systems and internal controls
- Acting as a key business partner, providing insight to non-finance teams
- Liaising with external auditors, HMRC, and other stakeholders
- Mentoring and developing junior members of the finance team
- A recognised accountancy qualification (ACA / ACCA / CIMA)
- Strong technical accounting knowledge and experience in a similar role
- Confident leadership skills and a collaborative, hands-on approach
- Excellent communication abilities across all levels of a business
- A proactive mindset with strong attention to detail and commercial awareness
