The Financial Controller is responsible for the day-to-day financial operations of Homewise, ensuring robust financial management across the business. Acting as a key commercial partner, they collaborate closely with the CFO, Managing Director, and senior leadership to shape and implement financial strategies aligned with the company's mission and values. This role combines functional expertise with strategic insight, supporting departments to deliver budgets, optimise ROI, and drive financial performance.
What You'll Be Doing
As our Finance Business Partner is going on maternity leave there will be some cover for her roles expect alongside the below duties:
Develop and execute the finance department plan aligned with company strategy.
Manage and monitor Finance team performance
Oversee creation of budgets and forecasts with detailed assumptions for submission to CFO.
Manage daily, monthly and annual cashflow forecasting and optimise liquidity.
Provide financial analysis and insights to support decision-making, identifying and recommending opportunities for cost savings and revenue growth
Provide Financial Planning & Analysis on department spends including ROI and assess financial risks
Review and/or prepare monthly Management accounts and Balance sheet reconciliations for submission to CFO.
Ensure that the company complies with all applicable laws and regulations and lead the audit process with external auditors
Manage and monitor company loans, ensuring adherence to terms and compliance to loan covenants
Assess and manage company insurance requirements, ensuring adequate cover, negotiating terms with providers and managing any insurance claims
Oversee purchase ledger, payroll, company cars and staff expenses and ensure compliance with internal controls
Manage company banking facilities and develop and enforce suitable authority levels
Ensure finance processes are well defined, efficient, controlled and compliant
Manage finance systems and integrations and research and implement suitable AI solutions.
This is a full-time, permanent and hybrid opportunity and the basic salary for this role is 60,000 to 70,000 based on experience. You will need to attend our Worthing office at least twice a week and must attend on a Tuesday.
You will need to have:
Professional accounting designation (ACCA, or equivalent).
Proven experience in financial leadership roles.
Strong understanding of financial systems and regulatory compliance.
Excellent analytical, strategic planning, and communication skills.

Strong leadership and team management capabilities.
