We're looking for a finance professional who will be responsible for financial reporting across our Group and subsidiaries.
You will have responsibility for all aspects of financial management, including regulatory and financial reporting for the consolidated Group and subsidiary companies, and maintaining a high-quality financial control environment.
Your responsibilities will include:
Lead the production of IFRS Group statutory accounts (full-year and half-year), as well as subsidiary accounts prepared under UK GAAP.
Support the delivery of the Group's external audit process.
Prepare and submit Group and Company regulatory returns, including but not limited to Solvency UK, IPT, VAT, and FCA reporting requirements.
Preparation of annual tax returns in collaboration with the Group's external tax advisors.
Produce consolidated and individual monthly management accounts for the Group and its subsidiaries.
Responsibility for direct reports, providing strong leadership and direction to two assistant management accountants.
Drive the implementation and continuous improvement of effective financial controls across the finance function.
Act as a key finance business partner, building strong relationships across departments and providing financial insight to support decision-making.
Monitor and assess the adequacy of the Group's claims provision on an ongoing basis.
Ensure full compliance with employment legislation, FCA principles, "Treating Customers Fairly" (TCF), and all other relevant regulatory requirements.
Experience and Knowledge you will need for the role:
Essential
ACA, ACCA Qualified Accountant
Experience with audits and both financial and ERP systems (Sage 200 preferable)
Experience in preparation of statutory accounts including consolidations and experience with both IFRS and UK GAAP
Strong Excel capability (as a minimum proficient with SUMIF, VLOOKUP functions and Pivot Tables)
Demonstrable Leadership and Coaching Skills
Desirable
Experience with Sage 200
Previous experience in the insurance or financial services
Experience in people management
High quality experience in an audit practice
