Financial Services Tax Associate

Bristol, ENG, GB, United Kingdom

Job Description

At PwC, our people in tax services focus on providing advice and guidance to clients on tax planning, compliance, and strategy. These individuals help businesses navigate complex tax regulations and optimise their tax positions. In tax consulting and advising at PwC, you will focus on offering consulting and advisory services to clients on various tax matters. You will provide advice and guidance on tax planning, compliance, and strategy, helping businesses optimise their tax positions and navigate complex tax regulations.

About the role:

The insurance industry provides financial protection and risk management by transferring and spreading the risks of unforeseen events, thereby providing the stability and confidence that individuals and organisations need to pursue their financial goals, protect and grow their capital, and support economic development and social welfare.

Our team of specialists support clients across all tax matters, whether domestic or international in nature. Within the Insurance market there are a range of businesses which have diverse operating models and tax needs, and we have staff experienced in working with businesses across the sector. We work with general insurers, life insurers, Lloyd's market, brokers and beyond.

Our Insurance team is one of the fastest growing areas of PwC's Financial Services tax advisory practice. In particular, our Insurance team works closely with our Asset, Wealth & Management team given the crossover between the two subsectors, particularly in the life insurance industry.

As an Associate, you will have the opportunity to work with experienced Partners, Directors and Senior Managers across the FS team. The team will provide you with the opportunity to put into practice your tax technical skills in a stimulating and challenging environment.

What your days will look like:

You will work as part of a team to provide quality advisory, compliance and audit of tax services to a high profile portfolio of both UK and multinational clients in insurance. You will have the opportunity to work on a range of clients in the insurance space, covering general insurers, life insurers, Lloyd's market insurance divisions of banking and asset management companies, and insurance brokers. You will learn how to consider tax issues across the product value chain, insurance undertaking and policyholder, getting involved in work on major transactions, international structuring, technical compliance engagements, audit of tax and a range of day-to-day 'ad hoc' tax matters. As the team provides a range of international and non-tax services, you will be able to work closely with a range of other complementary specialists and thereby expand your knowledge of the industry. You will be responsible for building close relationships with a wide range of clients, working as part of a team and delivering the Firms tax services. You will benefit from a progressive environment where you will be encouraged to develop client relationships, technical and people management skills.

This role is for you if:

We are looking for motivated and ambitious candidates with excellent interpersonal skills. Ideally, you will have practical experience of working within one or more of the tax sub-sectors but this is not essential.

What you'll receive from us:

No matter where you may be in your career or personal life, our benefits are designed to add value and support, recognising and rewarding you fairly for your contributions.

We offer a range of benefits including empowered flexibility and a working week split between office, home and client site; private medical cover and 24/7 access to a qualified virtual GP; six volunteering days a year and much more.
