Help keep our financial systems running smoothly - and our services running better.
As a Financial Systems Officer, you'll be the bridge between the systems we rely on and the people who use them - helping to ensure our payment processes, systems access and records are secure, accurate and efficient.
Working Style

What you'll be doing:
Whether you're troubleshooting an issue, processing BACS payments or responding to a Help Desk query, your work will support smooth operations across the Council.
You'll be responsible for maintaining a range of key financial systems, from prepaid and purchase cards to legacy databases. You'll manage service requests for changes to user access, ensure accurate reconciliation and help monitor card usage to ensure everything aligns with our policies. Alongside this, you'll run performance reports, support audits, help with system upgrades and respond to queries - including ad hoc Freedom of Information requests.
You'll also keep the Finance Hub and SharePoint pages up to date for non-Oracle systems, and work across the organisation to support teams using systems for manual payments, purchase and prepaid cards This is a hybrid role, with three days each week based in the borough.

Your communication skills will be just as important. You'll be able to explain technical information clearly to non-specialists, build strong working relationships and bring a collaborative, helpful approach to your work. You'll also be someone who's organised, self-motivated and committed to delivering high standards, every day.
