The KPMG Finance Transformation team is looking for exceptional talent to join our Finance Data and Systems capability group. We're seeking a Solution Architect with experience in the Insurance Market who thrives on leveraging data and systems to solve complex business challenges and drive tangible outcomes for our clients
What will you be doing?
Client Delivery: Driving Impact Through Innovative Solutions

• Be part of teams that deliver large-scale FS Finance Transformation programmes, independently leading workstreams, focusing on Solution, Data, and Systems Architecture design. You'll be accountable for engagement delivery and ensuring exceptional client outcomes.
• Communicate and demonstrate, through successful delivery, the tangible benefits of KPMG's Finance Systems Transformation approach, ensuring these benefits are fully realised for our clients.
• Manage cross-functional global engagement teams, both internally within KPMG and externally with client teams, fostering collaboration and high performance.
• Build strong rapport and maintain strategic relationships with external vendors, acting as a crucial conduit between vendors and client teams. You'll translate complex system 'jargon' into clear, actionable business terminology.
• Cultivate positive and collaborative relationships with senior client stakeholders, becoming a trusted advisor.
• Facilitate collaborative and fulfilling working environments for both client and KPMG staff on engagements, promoting a culture of shared success.

Business Development: Expanding Our Reach and Impact

• Leverage your internal and external networks to support Partners and Directors in driving business development and sales activities, identifying new opportunities for growth.
• Manage and/or support the development of compelling responses for proposals (RFPs) and impactful sales pitches to prospective clients.
• Contribute to the development of innovative Go-to-Market propositions that directly address critical client issues.
• Actively build credibility and relationships within the market, including with prospective clients and key technology vendors.
• Identify and champion cross-sell opportunities, bringing valuable engagements to other parts of the firm where appropriate.

Practice Development: Shaping Our Future

• Lead the development of processes and initiatives crucial for scaling our business, including through formal training programs across the team.

Risk Management: Ensuring Robustness and Compliance

• Proactively identify and manage risks, ensuring engagement assurance and commercial risk management. You will ensure the Firm's frameworks are implemented appropriately and effectively.

People Management & Talent Development:

• Demonstrate a proven track record of managing high-performing delivery teams and actively developing team members within a consulting practice.
• Act as a formal performance manager for junior members of the team, actively participating in our bi-annual appraisal process.
• Support the development of junior team members through both formal training and informal coaching & mentoring, fostering their growth and success

What will you need to do it?

• Finance Systems Architecture: Clear understanding on how finance systems are constructed and interact, particularly within the intricate world of Insurance. You understand the blueprints that underpin financial operations.

• Data Integration Designs: You have experience of designing (and delivering) data integrations and understand the best practices and challenges associated.

• Data Modelling: You have experience in designing robust and scalable data structures that transform raw data into insightful, decision-driving intelligence.

• Delivery Experience: You have a proven track record of bringing complex projects to life, with hands-on experience in implementing cutting-edge ERP, regulatory, or reporting platforms.

• Functional Design Expertise: You're adept at shaping the functionality of leading platforms that underpin modern finance processes. This includes, but is not limited to:

• Oracle/SAP/Workday/MS D365 ERP platforms
• Databricks / Snowflake
• Azure cloud
• PowerBI
• Tagetik
• Workiva

• End-to-End Solution Design: Proven experience in managing the complete solution design lifecycle within FS, encompassing general ledger, data storage, consolidation solutions, and comprehensive reporting suites.

• Full Solution Lifecycle Engagement: Hands-on experience across all phases of the solution lifecycle, from conceptual design and Proof of Concept (POC) to vendor selection, programme mobilisation, detailed solution design, delivery management, rigorous testing, and dry-run execution.

Skills we'd love to see/Amazing Extras:

• Accountancy qualification with strong post qualification experience
