Overview:



We are looking for a proactive and experienced

Fire and Safety Estimator

to join our North London-based team.

You will play a crucial role in estimating costs for integrated fire and safety systems across residential, commercial, and industrial sectors.

Your expertise in fire alarms, and intruder alarms is essential. You must be confident conducting site surveys and preparing accurate estimates.

Familiarity with key systems are essential. The ideal candidate will also bring experience with tendering and construction frameworks.

Key Responsibilities:



? Conduct site surveys to determine client requirements and system specifications.

? Prepare accurate and competitive estimates for fire and security systems including , fire alarms, and intruder alarms.

? Collaborate with design, sales, and technical teams to align estimates with project goals.

? Review drawings, specifications, and tender documentation to support estimation accuracy.

? Manage the full tendering process including document preparation and client follow up.

? Maintain up-to-date knowledge of NSI, BAFE, and British Standards applicable to fire and safety installations.

? Evaluate supplier and subcontractor quotes to ensure competitive and reliable pricing.

? Support project handovers by coordinating with project managers and installation teams.

? Provide technical advice to clients and ensure proposed solutions are compliant and efficient.

? Contribute to continuous improvement of estimating tools, processes, and procedures.

? Assess project scope, timelines, and resources to ensure that proposals are delivered on time and within budget.

? Stay up to date with industry developments, product innovations, and standards to ensure the best solutions are proposed to clients.

? Provide technical support and advice to clients as required, ensuring that solutions offered meet their needs and expectations.

? Contribute to the continuous improvement of estimating processes and systems.

? Assist in the preparation of bids and proposals, presenting estimates to clients in a professional manner.

? Liaise with other team members to ensure smooth project handovers and implementation.

Key Skills and Experience: Essential:

? Proven experience in estimating for security and fire systems.

? Knowledge of current fire and security industry standards and regulations.

? Strong knowledge of key fire systems brands

? Solid experience in tendering for security and fire systems, with a strong understanding of the tender process in construction and related sectors.

? Familiarity with construction frameworks and framework agreements is highly desirable.

? Familiarity with estimating software and tools.

? Strong understanding of the full project lifecycle, including design, specification, installation, and commissioning.

? Excellent communication and negotiation skills.

? Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

? Strong attention to detail and accuracy.

? Excellent organisational and time-management skills.

? Strong knowledge of relevant British Standards.

? Valid UK licence required, to be able to use the company pool vehicle. Desirable:

? Experience working on both large-scale commercial and residential projects.

? An understanding of health and safety regulations in relation to security system installations.

? Experience working with or within construction framework agreements. Qualifications:

? A background in electrical engineering, security technology, or a related field is preferred but not essential.

? Estimating or project management certifications are a plus.

? A valid driver's license is preferred, as some site visits may be required. Personal Attributes:

Salary Package: ? Salary: 45,000 - 55,000 per annum (dependent on experience)

? Full-time, permanent contract

? 23 days paid holiday plus Public and Bank Holidays (England)
