Role Description



This is a full-time on-site role for a Fire and Gas Detection Service Engineer located in the Greater Aberdeen Area. The Service Engineer will be responsible for the installation, maintenance, and repair of fire and gas detection systems. Day-to-day tasks include providing technical support, troubleshooting system issues, performing regular inspections, and conducting field service activities. Excellent communication skills are essential to effectively liaise with clients and team members.

What you'll be doing



Installing, Commissioning, Servicing, Maintaining and Calibrating Gas alarm systems across various sites throughout Scotland. Installing and commissioning mainly Gas alarm systems, including GDS, Honeywell, Dragar and Crocon Detection equipment. Diagnosing and fixing faults using schematics and technical drawings Helping an installation team install equipment to ATEX Standard Making sure all work meets British Standards and health and safety requirements Providing technical support to clients and colleagues

Qualifications and skills



Proven experience as an Alarm Engineer or similar role 18th Edition IET Wiring Regulations would be desirable Strong fault-finding skills across a range of alarm systems Electrical Electronic background with electrician experience or Electrical / Electronic qualifications City & Guilds / NVQ / HNC ATEX qualifications would be desirable Have good IT and report writing skills Full UK driving licence Comfortable working at heights and in physically demanding environments Comfortable working away from home for short durations An ability to work to company and client permit work systems Ability to work under pressure whilst remaining calm, clear thinking and able to deliver the required services to the client within given time constraints.

The candidate will be expected to learn fast and in doing so be able to fulfil a managerial role in the near future. Once proven their ability, a new job opportunity will be discussed.
