We're partnering with a respected fire and security solutions provider in the Birmingham area to help them find a skilled Fire & Security Engineer. If you have hands-on experience installing and maintaining safety systems, this is a great opportunity to join a forward-thinking business that values technical expertise and offers long-term career prospects.
Role Overview:
System Installation & Maintenance
Install, maintain, and service fire detection systems, intruder alarms, access control, and CCTV equipment.
Diagnostics & Repairs
Identify system faults, carry out effective troubleshooting, and complete repairs to ensure optimal performance.
Testing & Compliance
Commission and test systems in line with industry regulations and complete the associated documentation.
Client Interaction
Deliver excellent service, offering clear guidance to customers on system functionality, maintenance, and potential upgrades.
Regulatory Adherence & Reporting
Make sure all work aligns with current regulations. Keep detailed logs of work carried out, including timesheets and service reports.
Technical Issue Resolution
Manage technical challenges promptly, keeping clients informed and documenting outcomes and next steps.
Ideal Background:
Industry Experience
Proven track record working with fire and security technologies including alarms, CCTV, access control, and intruder systems.
Technical Capability
Strong analytical and diagnostic skills with the ability to repair and maintain a variety of systems.
Standards Knowledge
Familiarity with British Standards for fire and security systems and relevant safety regulations.
Driving Licence
A full UK driving licence is essential as the role involves travel to client locations.
Professional Approach
Confident working alone or as part of a team, with a customer-focused mindset and a proactive work ethic.
Desirable Extras:
Experience with systems such as Galaxy or other major manufacturers
Valid CSCS or ECS card
IPAF or PASMA certification
Exposure to both commercial and domestic installations
What You'll Receive:
Salary: 35,000 - 40,000 depending on experience
Vehicle & Tools: Company van, mobile, and equipment provided
Earnings Potential: Overtime available
