As part of our continued growth, we are seeking a dedicated and experienced Fire Engineer to join our professional team at our Hendon office.
Role Overview
We are looking for a proactive and technically proficient Fire Engineer with a strong background in UK fire safety regulations. You will play a key role in developing fire strategies, advising project teams, and ensuring compliance across a wide range of construction projects. Key Responsibilities
Develop comprehensive fire strategies for new build and refurbishment projects in accordance with UK regulations.
Carry out detailed fire risk assessments and produce clear, concise technical reports.
Advise architects, contractors, and project managers on effective fire safety solutions.
Ensure compliance with the Building Regulations 2010 (specifically Approved Document B) and other relevant standards (e.g. BS 9999, BS 7974).
Assist in obtaining statutory approvals from local authorities and fire services.
Conduct site inspections to verify fire safety systems and installations.
Provide guidance on fire compartmentation, means of escape, alarm systems, and suppression systems.
Keep up to date with industry legislation, guidance, and innovations in fire engineering.
Requirements
Degree in Fire Engineering, Fire Safety Engineering, Building Services Engineering or Level 6 Fire Safety / Fire Risk Assessment Qualifications.
Minimum 3 years of fire engineering or fire safety consultancy experience within the UK.
Strong knowledge of UK fire safety legislation and Building Regulations.
Familiarity with Approved Document B, BS 9999, BS 7974 and fire modelling methodologies.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with experience producing detailed technical documentation.
Competent in using fire modelling and analysis tools (e.g., CFD, evacuation models).
Chartered or working toward Chartered status (e.g. with the Institution of Fire Engineers) is preferred.
