About Hinkley Point C





The first new nuclear power station to be built in the UK in over 20 years; Hinkley Point C in Somerset will provide low-carbon electricity for around 6 million homes, create thousands of jobs and bring lasting benefits to the UK economy.



Marking a significant milestone in the revitalisation of our nuclear power industry, Hinkley Point C will make a major contribution to the UKs move to reduce carbon emissions. The electricity generated by its two EPR reactors will offset 9 million tonnes of carbon dioxide emissions a year.


This is a fully site based role



What you'll be doing



You will be accountable to the MEH Alliance Fire Safety Manager for the performance of the key deliverables listed below.


Promote and support the development of a positive fire safety culture

among MEH Alliance employees and stakeholders.
Intervening where shortfalls in fire safety have been identified and assist

in the rectification of standards to allow safe continuation of works.
Contribute to the development and implementation of fire safety systems,

procedures, and policies.
Conduct fire safety inspections for development of fire risk assessments

and ongoing monitoring to ensure effectiveness.
Champion continuous improvement in fire safety practices and systems

across the construction site.
Maintain fire risk assessments to ensure they are suitable and sufficient

for the works being undertaken and risk of fire.
Cooperate with other contractor's fire risk assessors to ensure approach

to fire risk assessments are coordinated.
Develop and maintain a thorough understanding of the site

processes and procedures relating to fire safety ensuring advise and guidance provided to the MEH Alliance operations are compliant with requirements.



Who we're looking for



You must have,


Fire Risk Assessment Certification Level 3 or Level 4 for Complex Buildings

(level 4 required by Q2 2026)


Desirable,


NEBOSH Fire Certificate Diploma in Fire Safety Lv4 (Fire Inspector) IOSH Managing Safety Previous experience of fire safety in the construction industry or other high

risk/complex environments.


You MUST be able to obtain a BPSS security clearance.
