Job Summary


We are seeking a detail-oriented and knowledgeable Fire Risk Assessor to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for evaluating fire safety measures across various premises, identifying potential hazards, and recommending appropriate mitigation strategies. This role requires a strong understanding of construction and system design principles to ensure comprehensive risk assessments. The position offers an opportunity to contribute to safety standards while working within a dynamic and professional environment.

Responsibilities



Conduct thorough fire risk assessments in diverse settings, including commercial, industrial, and residential properties. Analyse building layouts, construction materials, and existing fire safety systems to identify potential hazards. Develop detailed reports outlining risks and propose effective mitigation measures aligned with current regulations. Collaborate with clients, contractors, and regulatory bodies to ensure compliance with fire safety legislation. Provide expert advice on the design and implementation of fire safety systems during new constructions or renovations. Keep abreast of updates in fire safety legislation, standards, and best practices to maintain assessment accuracy. Assist in training staff or clients on fire safety procedures and system operation when required.

Experience



Minimum RQF level 3 (low/Med risk buildings) Minimum 2-3 years' experience delivering fire risk assessments Minimum Tier 2 registered with IFSM, IFE, or equivalent third-party body A Good understanding of Fire Safety Act 2021, Building Safety Act 2022, and FSO 2005 Level 3 Award in Fire Door Inspection or similar accredited course (BRE Academy, FPA, FireQual) - Desirable Prior experience conducting fire risk assessments within commercial or industrial environments is preferred. Strong understanding of relevant UK fire safety legislation and standards. Excellent organisational skills with the ability to analyse complex building layouts and technical systems. Effective communication skills for liaising with clients, contractors, and regulatory authorities.
