Mid and West Wales Fire and Rescue Service are seeking applications from individuals for a permanent position for the role of
Fire Safety Inspector within the Business Fire Safety Department.
1 post is based in Western Division with hubs in Haverfordwest, Carmarthen
1 post is in Southern Division with hubs in Morriston, Neath Port Talbot
The Role
A Fire Safety Inspector can complete inspections of all regulated premises including complex and high-risk premises (in some cases buildings based upon fire engineering principles). They are qualified to investigate and report breaches of fire legislation, taking formal enforcement action for breaches of fire safety legislation.
Additionally, this role includes statutory and non-statutory consultations for other areas of work within the Fire Safety Department, examples include Building Regulations and Licencing applications.
A level 4 Diploma in Fire Safety is required for this post, full training and support to complete this will be provided.
The service administers 58 fire stations and 1300 staff with a budget of over 63 million.
This is a full-time post working 37 hours per week with flexible hours in line with the Service's flexi-time scheme.
