The Role
Being an apprentice with us means jumping straight into the deep end of commercial security. You'll be hands-on from day one - learning how to design, install, test, and maintain fire alarms, CCTV, access control, intruder, and emergency systems alongside our experienced engineers. As a small firm made up of exceptional individuals, we'll support you every step of the way, helping you take pride in your work, grow in confidence, and build the skills you need to become a fully qualified Systems Technician with a clear path to senior engineering roles.
Skills and Knowledge
Understanding of electrical and electronic principles.
Core systems knowledge: fire detection, CCTV, access control, and intruder alarms.
Practical installation techniques and safe working practices.
Problem-solving skills to diagnose and repair faults.
Customer service and communication skills.
Responsibilities
Support senior engineers in the installation, commissioning, and maintenance of: o Fire detection and alarm systems o CCTV and video surveillance systems o Intruder and hold-up alarms o Access control and entry systems o Emergency lighting and life safety systems
Learn to carry out system testing, programming, verification, and fault finding.
Assist with preventative and corrective maintenance across new and existing systems.
Provide professional customer service, ensuring you represent Securewais with respect and reliability.
Always follow health & safety practices, keeping sites safe, tidy, and compliant.
Complete training blocks and reviews as part of your apprenticeship journey.
