The Role
We're looking for an enthusiastic and driven Apprentice Fire & Security Engineer to join our growing team. This is a fantastic opportunity to begin a career in the fire and security industry, working alongside experienced engineers on real installations and service work across London.
What You'll Be Doing
Assisting with the installation, testing and commissioning of fire alarm systems and security systems including alarms, CCTV and access control
Learning how to survey sites, assess customers' needs and help design suitable solutions
Supporting senior engineers with fault finding, maintenance and repair work
Helping ensure all work meets relevant safety and industry standards under supervision
Providing excellent customer service and explaining system operation to clients
What We're Looking For
A strong interest in fire, security and technology systems
A positive attitude and willingness to learn
Good communication skills and a customer-focused approach
Basic technical ability and comfort working with tools and technology
A commitment to completing your apprenticeship programme
Entry requirements
Maths and English GCSEs at grade 4/C or above
Must be able to pass an enhanced DBS check
Drivers licence required
Training to be provided
Skills for Security will deliver the apprenticeship training in block release at their Watford training centre. You will attend centre one week every eight weeks, Tuesday to Friday
Fire Emergency Security Systems Technician Level 3 Apprenticeship Standard.
You will be required to complete all training tasks allocated during your block release weeks at the training centre and gather any site evidence needed to supplement your studies.
You will be required to complete an annual assessment at the training centre and take part in any additional training courses that the company require you to complete.
The employer will mentor and coach you on the job.
Things to consider
Please note, this position is Apprentice Minimum wage but may be negotiated depending on experience.
