Solid State Security Ltd is one of the UK's leading specialist electrical contracting companies with over 35 year's experience in the design, supply, installation, commissioning and maintenance of life-safety systems including fire alarms, security systems, emergency lighting, CCTV, voice alarm systems and call systems.
Solid State Security is seeking a proactive Fire & Security Installation Project Manager to oversee the delivery of life safety and security system installations. You'll manage projects from planning through to handover, ensuring high-quality workmanship, compliance with standards, and exceptional client experience.
Key Responsibilities:
Project Delivery
Manage fire and security installation projects from award to completion.
Plan resources, create installation programmes, and control project costs.
Review drawings, conduct site surveys, and develop installation strategies.
Ensure compliance with BS 5839, BS 5266, BS EN 50131, and company standards.
Prepare RAMS, technical documentation, and commissioning plans.
Engineer & Subcontractor Management
Coordinate engineers and subcontractors to maintain productivity and quality.
Provide technical support and guidance to the installation team.
Deliver site briefings, toolbox talks, and ensure training requirements are met.
Client & Stakeholder Communication
Act as the main client contact throughout project delivery.
Attend progress meetings and provide regular updates.
Manage expectations and maintain Solid State Security's high service standards.
Compliance, Testing & Handover
Oversee system commissioning, verification, and sign-off.
Compile O&M manuals, as-fitted drawings, and handover packs.
Conduct site audits and ensure strong health & safety performance.
Experience (Essential)
Experience managing fire and/or security installation projects.
Strong technical understanding of fire alarms, intruder, CCTV, access control, AOV, and emergency lighting systems.
Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and specifications.
Confident communicator with strong organisational skills.
Full UK driving licence.
Desirable
Experience in an NSI/BAFE environment.
Competence with CAD/Visio.
Manufacturer training (e.g., Advanced, Kentec, Paxton, Hikvision, Aico).
SSSTS/SMSTS or similar.
