The Fire & Security Project Manager is responsible for overseeing the delivery of fire and security system installation projects from inception to completion. This includes managing budgets, schedules, resources, and client relationships to ensure projects are delivered safely, on time, and within scope and budget, while meeting all relevant standards and company policies.
Main Duties are but not limited to.
Manage multiple fire and security installation projects simultaneously, ensuring all are completed to specification, on time, and within budget.
Oversee all stages of project delivery including design review, procurement, installation, commissioning, and handover.
Act as the main point of contact for clients, consultants, subcontractors, and suppliers.
Prepare and manage project documentation including RAMS, programmes of work, progress reports, and handover packs.
Ensure compliance with relevant British Standards (BS 5839, BS 6266, BS 7671, BS EN 50132, etc.) and industry regulations.
Manage project teams including engineers, subcontractors, and commissioning staff.
Monitor project progress and identify potential risks or delays, implementing corrective actions where necessary.
Liaise with internal departments including design, service, and finance to ensure smooth project delivery.
Conduct regular site visits to monitor quality, health & safety compliance, and project performance.
Manage project budgets, variations, and financial reporting in line with company procedures.
Ensure all completed projects are handed over with appropriate documentation, client training, and maintenance information.
Requirements/qualifications
Proven experience as a Project Manager within the fire and/or security systems industry.
Strong technical understanding of systems such as fire alarms, CCTV, access control, intruder alarms, and integrated security solutions.
Excellent organisational and communication skills with the ability to manage multiple stakeholders.
Strong commercial awareness and financial control capabilities.
Knowledge of relevant standards and regulations (BS 5839, NSI, SSAIB, FIA, etc.).
Proficient in Microsoft Office and project management tools (e.g., MS Project, Smartsheet).
Full UK driving licence.
Must be able to travel around the UK.
Working hours will be 40 hours per week. This will include some out of hours working.
