The Opportunity

The Firewall Engineer will play a pivotal role in ensuring the security and integrity of our client\'s network infrastructure. With a focus on a singular client, you will design, implement, and manage firewall solutions that safeguard against unauthorized access and cyber threats. Your responsibilities will contribute directly to the continuous protection of our client\'s sensitive data and critical operations, providing them with a secure and stable network environment. Roles and responsibilities for this role include, but may not be limited to:

Managing firewall solutions to ensure network security and protecting against unauthorized access.

Collaborating with cross-functional teams to establish and enforce network security policies.

Performing regular firewall rule reviews and updates to maintain an optimized and secure network environment.

Troubleshooting and resolve firewall-related issues to minimize downtime and ensuring continuous network availability.

Staying up to date with the latest security trends, vulnerabilities, and best practices to proactively address emerging threats.

Essential Skills

Strong experience with firewall administration and management.

Proficiency in configuring and maintaining firewall rules, policies, and access controls.

Knowledge of network protocols, routing, and subnetting.

Familiarity with intrusion detection/prevention systems (IDS/IPS).

Firsthand experience with firewall platforms such as Cisco ASA, Palo Alto, Check Point, etc.

Desirable Requirements

Relevant certifications like Cisco CCNA Security, CompTIA Security+, or equivalent.

Experience with scripting languages for automation of firewall tasks.

Familiarity with cloud security and virtualized network environments.

Knowledge of cybersecurity frameworks and standards.
