Role Overview:

We are a busy, expanding family-run firewood business and we are looking for a confident, personable, hard working, self motivated

full-time Delivery Driver / Yard Operative

to join our team. This is a hands-on role and you will be a key part of making sure our customers get the top-quality service they expect.

You will deliver bulk loads of firewood using a transit van sized tipping vehicle and Hi-Ab crane. Some jobs involve handballing and operating a manual sack trolley so you must be capable of completing these tasks.

You will be required to assist with packing firewood, loading and unloading lorries & general yard duties including tidying so a motivated attitude and willingness to work in the outdoors is a must.

Fork-lift experience is essential, current ticket highly desirable.
We also operate & load using telehandlers - experience with these vehicles is also desirable.

As your duties relate to delivering, the successful applicant must have a flexible approach to starting and finishing times.

Other farm related duties may be required on occasion.

Key Responsibilities:

Delivering firewood using a transit van sized tipper / Hi-Ab crane Hand balling of smaller loads. Loading & unloading HGV lorries. Assisting with packing firewood , order preparation, vehicle & yard cleaning as needed.

Requirements:

Full UK Driving Licence (clean preferred) Applicant must be over 25 years old for insurance purposes. Confident driver with experience in tipping vehicles / Hiab cranes preferred (transit van size). Forklift experience essential. Active and fit, capable of manual handling tasks. Knowledge of the firewood industry is a bonus but not essential (training provided) Must enjoy working outdoors in all weathers. Capable of working under minimum supervision after training.

Contract Terms:

Permanent position after initial successful 3 month trial period.
