Job Overview


We are seeking a dedicated and knowledgeable First Aid Instructor to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for educating individuals in first aid techniques and ensuring they are equipped with the necessary skills to respond effectively in emergency situations. Ideally you will also have other qualifications which allow you to deliver Manual Handling, First Aid for Mental Health, and other health and safety courses. This role requires strong communication and organisational abilities, as well as a passion for teaching and leadership.

Duties



Deliver engaging and informative first aid training sessions to diverse groups. Develop and maintain training materials that align with current first aid guidelines. Assess participants' understanding and competency through practical demonstrations and evaluations. Provide ongoing support and resources to trainees, ensuring they feel confident in their skills. Manage classroom behaviour effectively, fostering a positive learning environment. Stay updated on the latest first aid practices and IT tools relevant to training delivery. Collaborate with other instructors to enhance the overall training programme.

Essential Qualifications



Ofqual accredited First Aid at Work certificate (in date) Teaching Qualification (AET, PGCE, PCeT, etc)

Desirable Qualifications



Health & Safety Qualifications (IOSH, NEBOSH)

Skills



Excellent presentation and communication skills, with the ability to convey complex information clearly. Strong organisational skills to manage training schedules, materials, and participant records efficiently. Proficient in behaviour management techniques to maintain an effective learning atmosphere. Demonstrated ability to educate individuals of varying skill levels in first aid practices. In-depth knowledge of first aid procedures and protocols. Competence in using IT tools for training purposes, including presentation software and online resources. Proficiency in English, both written and spoken, is essential. Leadership qualities that inspire confidence and motivate trainees.
As a company, we are based in Abercynon, CF45. You will be expected to deliver training for us across the whole of South Wales and along the M4 corridor.
