Purpose of the Role

Join the Security team as a First Response Team Member, where as part of the Watch you'll play a key role in providing security, fighting fire, conducting rescues, and delivering emergency first aid to protect life, property, and the environment while supporting business continuity. Reporting into the First Response Team Manager your main responsibilities include;




Conducting security operations, including patrols, inspections, traffic control, event and prototype support, and other assignments as directed by the Head of Security. Responding to emergencies with first aid, casualty and scene management, firefighting, rescues (height and confined space), hazardous material control, and PHEV battery incidents. Operating the 24/7 Control Room, managing incident response (including data breaches), coordinating support for Bentley and VW Group UK, and maintaining accurate logs and records. Conducting fire risk assessments, prepare site-specific risk information, and service firefighting, medical, and rescue equipment. Leading fire safety training, drills, evacuations, and joint exercises with emergency services, supported by detailed reporting.

About the Team

The First Response Team are the foundation of the Security department working within the HR function of the business. The team consists of sixteen First Response Members over four watches. You shall be required to work a shift pattern consisting of two days and two nights. This is an exciting job opportunity for the right candidate to join the team and provide both operational and safety to the business in line with the Beyond 100+ strategy.

About you - Skills and Experience

Strong motivation, teamwork, communication, and ability to remain focused under pressure. Licensed through the Security Industry Authority (or equivalent), with prior safety responsibilities and risk assessment experience. Completed industrial/external Fire Team and internal firefighter training; background in emergency services or military desirable. Physically fit and capable of passing the Chester Treadmill Test. Strong site knowledge, interpersonal skills, and confidence working in confined spaces and at height. Computer literate with good MS Office skills GCSEs (A-D) in Maths, English, and Science or equivalent qualifications. Valid C1 driving licence and First Aid at Work certification.
