Job Summary

We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Shop Assistant to join our team. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in providing exceptional customer service while assisting in the daily operations of our shop. This position requires a passion for culinary arts and a commitment to food safety, ensuring that customers receive high-quality products and services.

Duties

Assist customers with their selections, providing knowledgeable recommendations and upselling products when appropriate. Maintain cleanliness and organisation of the shop, ensuring compliance with food safety standards. Support food preparation tasks, including basic cooking and assembling of food items as required. Manage time effectively to ensure all tasks are completed efficiently during busy periods. Handle cash transactions accurately, utilising basic maths skills for processing payments. Collaborate with team members to ensure smooth operation within the kitchen and shop environment. Engage with customers to provide assistance and resolve any queries or concerns they may have.

Experience

Previous experience in a restaurant or kitchen environment is advantageous but not essential. A background in culinary arts or food preparation will be beneficial for this role. Strong time management skills and the ability to work effectively under pressure are essential. Familiarity with food safety practices is preferred to maintain high standards within the shop. Excellent communication skills and a friendly demeanour are crucial for providing outstanding customer service.
