Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Fish & Meat Assistant to join our team. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in food production and culinary arts, with a keen eye for detail and a passion for delivering high-quality meat products. As a Fish & Meat Assistant, you will be responsible for expertly preparing and carving various cuts of meat & fish while adhering to strict food safety standards.

Duties

Prepare and carve a variety of fish & meats, ensuring precision and presentation quality. Maintain cleanliness and organisation of the work area, adhering to food safety regulations. Collaborate with kitchen staff to ensure timely preparation of fish & meat products for service. Assist in the butchery process, including cutting, trimming, and portioning fish & meats as required. Monitor inventory levels of meat products and assist in stock rotation to minimise waste. Uphold high standards of hygiene and sanitation throughout all food preparation processes.

Qualifications

Proven experience in food production or culinary roles, preferably within a restaurant or kitchen environment. Strong knowledge of food safety practices and regulations. Experience in butchery is highly desirable; familiarity with various cuts of meat is essential. Excellent knife skills and attention to detail in food preparation. Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment while maintaining quality standards. Strong communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively as part of a team.
