We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Fitness Manager to lead our fitness centre team. The ideal candidate will possess strong management skills, excellent communication abilities, and a passion for promoting health and wellness. This role involves overseeing daily operations, supervising staff, and ensuring an exceptional experience for our members. The Fitness Manager will play a key role in driving membership growth, maintaining high standards of service, and fostering a motivating environment. Responsibilities
Lead and manage the fitness centre team, including supervising staff and conducting performance evaluations
Develop and implement programmes to enhance member engagement and retention
Oversee daily operations, ensuring smooth functioning of all facilities and services
Manage sales activities, including membership sales, retail merchandising, and promotional events
Maintain organisational standards through effective merchandising and presentation of products and services
Provide exceptional customer service via professional communication skills and phone etiquette
Coordinate staff schedules to optimise coverage during operating hours
Monitor health and safety compliance within the centre, ensuring a secure environment for all members and staff
Organise training sessions for staff development and ensure adherence to company policies
Handle administrative tasks such as reporting, record keeping, and inventory management
Experience
Proven management experience within a fitness centre or retail environment with supervisory responsibilities
Strong leadership skills with the ability to motivate teams and foster a positive working atmosphere
Experience in sales management, merchandising, organisational planning, and time management
Excellent communication skills in English; multilingual or bilingual abilities are advantageous
Previous administrative experience including handling phone enquiries with professionalism and courtesy
Demonstrated ability to manage multiple priorities efficiently in a fast-paced setting
Background in sports management or fitness industry is preferred but not essential
