Job Description

This fixed term post has a flexible timetable with no set pattern. Of the 10 Programmed Activities (PAs) per week, 1 is for the post-holder to undertake Supported Professional Activity (SPA). Of the clinical PAs, a typical week would consist of 4-6 theatre sessions amounting to 7.85 Direct Clinical Care PAs. The remainder will be made up of non-resident on-call activity as described below, at an approximate frequency of 1 in 6.

Participation in monthly department governance meetings and revalidation requirements will be included within the 1 SPA allocation of this post. In addition, there will be responsibilities for supervising and assessing specialist trainees and other members of the multi disciplinary team. The post holder will have a commitment to teaching of both undergraduates and postgraduates and evidence of active participation in teaching.
