? 12-month fixed-term contract (maternity cover)



30 hours/week (Mon-Fri) + 1 in 6 Saturdays (7:45 am-1:00 pm)



Rotating weekly shifts:

Early:

7:45 am-2:00 pm and

Late:

1:30 pm-7:00 pm

Small Animal, Equine, and Farm

care. We are searching for a

Large Animal Veterinary Receptionist on a 12-month contract to cover future maternity leave.

This

is more than just a front desk role; you'll play an integral part in a fast-paced, professional environment that values teamwork, compassion, and efficiency. This role is ideal for someone who thrives in a varied, fast-moving setting and enjoys working with both clients and clinical teams.

Key Responsibilities:

Warmly welcoming clients in person and by phone Managing and booking complex appointments Coordinating daily logistics for vet visits Handling urgent requests with professionalism Payment processing and dispensing duties (full training provided)*
Stock rotation and maintaining a tidy, efficient reception & farm shop area

Local geographical knowledge is helpful for planning routes and allocating veterinary visits.

What We're Looking For:

You're approachable, organised, and calm under pressure, with a genuine passion for excellent customer service.

Essential Skills & Experience:

At least

2 years of customer service experience

(ideally from a veterinary, healthcare, retail, or hospitality setting)*
Strong interpersonal and communication skills Friendly, clear, and confident telephone manner High level of IT literacy and quick to learn new systems Able to work accurately and follow strict protocols

Own transport is essential

due to our rural location

Desirable:

Experience in

farm or equine environments

Knowledge of

Oxfordshire and the surrounding counties

What We Offer

Pay:

Starting rate:

12.21/hour, increasing to 12.60/hour post probation

(Higher rates considered for experienced veterinary receptionists)*
