Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled and dedicated Flat Roofer to join our construction team. The successful candidate will be responsible for installing, repairing, and maintaining roofs on residential, commercial, and industrial buildings. This role requires a strong understanding of roofing techniques, safety procedures, and the ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team. The ideal applicant will possess relevant skills in construction, fabrication, and the use of various tools, ensuring high-quality workmanship and adherence to safety standards.

Responsibilities

Measure and cut roofing materials accurately using hand tools and power tools Install roofing systems including shingles, tiles, metal sheets, or flat roofing materials Repair or replace damaged roofs to maintain structural integrity and weatherproofing Interpret schematics and technical drawings to ensure precise installation Operate welding equipment for specialised roofing applications where necessary Utilise fabrication skills for custom components or modifications required during installation Work with carpentry, masonry, plumbing, or other trades as needed for comprehensive roof projects Conduct heavy lifting of materials such as tiles, sheets, or insulation components safely Maintain a clean and organised worksite to ensure safety and efficiency Follow safety protocols at all times to prevent accidents or injuries on-site

Qualifications

Proven experience in flat roofing or related construction trades Knowledge of schematics, welding, hand tools, power tools, and fabrication techniques Strong understanding of construction principles (preferred) Ability to perform heavy lifting safely and work at heights comfortably Good organisational skills with attention to detail in measurements and installations Physical fitness to undertake demanding tasks in various weather conditions Relevant certifications or training in roofing or construction (desirable)
