The opportunity

We currently have an opening for a Fleet Certified Instructor to join the team based at Hinkley Point B either permanently or on a secondment basis (up to 2 years).

Working as our Fleet Certified Instructor, you will develop and deliver high quality initial and continuing training to our operations teams. Managing Operations Engineers\' training programmes, to ensure process compliance. Implementation of all phases of Systematic Approach to Training for operations programmes.

The role will require co-ordination of Operations\' Subject Matter Experts resource, to assist with development and delivery of initial and continuing training to Central Control Room teams. Training will be systematically developed, delivered and evaluated to ensure it is effective in supporting the Transfer & Deconstruction of a capable organisation and station.

Pay, Benefits & Culture

We can offer a competitive salary ranging from \xc2\xa340,069 - \xc2\xa384,892 and you\'ll be appointed based on the parameters outlined in the Nuclear Generation Company Agreement. However, the starting salary for this appointment will be within the range of \xc2\xa340,069 to \xc2\xa371,779 dependant on the successful candidate\'s competence, experience, and qualifications.

What you\'ll be doing

In this role your responsibilities will include:

  • The management of all Operations Engineer programmes, ensuring all updates and content conform to systematic approach to training process requirements.
  • Co-ordinating and assisting with development and delivery of engaging training for Operations Engineers.
  • Ensure compliance with the systematic approach for initial and continuing training programmes, to support continuous improvement in plant and personnel performance.
  • Provide ongoing coaching, feedback, and guidance to reinforce fundamental work practices, HU error prevention techniques, and technical knowledge to improve individual and plant performance.
  • Provide advice and guidance on relevant training matters with reference to Site Licence requirements, statutory regulations, subject matter expertise and company training objectives.
  • Support organisational needs through participation in Operations Engineers\' Curriculum Review Committee.
Who you are

We are looking for the following skills and qualifications:
  • Minimum of an HNC/HND or equivalent qualification in a Training/Engineering or Operations or equivalent discipline.
  • Self-driven and highly organised, with meticulous attention to detail.
  • Proven track record of producing high quality content within the constraints of a highly regulated industry.
  • Possess excellent interpersonal skills to build effective relationships.
  • Be able to demonstrate your communication skills and influence multiple stakeholders across the station as well as dealing with external regulatory bodies and auditors.
If not already achieved, formal training will be given to attain Fleet Certified Instructor qualifications as well as a practical understanding of the company systematic approach to training.

Ideally experience working with a Control room simulator would be advantageous but is not essential.
