Responsible for ensuring that the Garolla fleet of commercial vehicles is appropriately sized and well-maintained to support the safety, efficiency, and operational effectiveness of our field-based teams across the UK. Key responsibilities include enhancing driver safety, minimising engineer downtime, and managing the procurement and replacement of vehicles as they reach end of life. This role will also play a crucial part in supporting the company's growth by sourcing new vans in line with current and future operational requirements.
An exciting opportunity to build on your fleet experience by taking the lead role in sourcing, maintaining and improving the performance of the Garolla fleet of commercial vehicles
Key Responsibility's:
Ensure the Garolla fleet of mixed commercial vehicles is road worthy and fully maintained
Plan effectively and work with maintenance partners to ensure vehicle down time is minimised and engineer productivity is protected
Work with the Field Leadership team to highlight any safety concerns identified and lead initiatives to improve driving standards
Support the swift recovery of any vehicles involved in a breakdown or RTA and provide options to enable the engineer to return to work
Work with the Finance team and Lease providers to ensure new vehicles are provided on time and to the agreed specification
Keep up to date on new technology developments which support safety or efficiency performance and recommend changes
Ensure all licence checks are up to date and that any driving or parking penalties incurred by field engineers are handled efficiently
Look to ensure the fleet is cost effective, continually looking at options to reduce lease/running costs without impacting suitability
Support the development of an effective driver induction for new starters, especially focused on those colleagues who have not driven a commercial vehicle before
Candidate Requirements:
Over 3 years experience in a fleet co-ordinator or similar role
Experience of working with a field based workforce
A strong understanding of driver risk and safety best practice
Experience of the garage door/home improvement industry desirable but not essential
Excellent communication skills
Flexible and confident working in a changing environment
