Fleet Engineer \xe2\x80\x93 Stockport \xe2\x80\x93 Up to \xc2\xa350,000

Our Client, who are an independent specialist haulage company ree looking for a Fleet Engineer to join their team in Stockport

You will take a lead role in servicing vehicles and trailers and supervising the workshop staff.

Full Time: Monday to Friday \xe2\x80\x93 07:30am to 17:30pm

Salary: Up to \xc2\xa350,000 DOE

Day-to-day

  • Oversee the maintenance, repair, and operational efficiency of the company\xe2\x80\x99s fleet of vehicles.
  • Develop and implement maintenance schedules to ensure the fleet remains in optimal condition and compliant with safety regulations.
  • Conduct regular inspections and diagnostics on vehicles to identify issues and recommend necessary repairs.
  • Collaborate with mechanics and technicians to coordinate repairs, maintenance, and parts replacement.
  • Manage the procurement of vehicle parts, tools, and equipment necessary for maintenance and repairs.
  • Monitor fuel efficiency, performance metrics, and operational costs to identify areas for improvement.
  • Analyze data to make informed decisions about fleet replacement, upgrades, or modifications.
  • Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, repairs, and expenses for reporting purposes.
  • Stay updated with industry trends, technological advancements, and regulatory changes affecting the fleet.
  • Provide technical support and guidance to drivers and operations teams to ensure safe and efficient vehicle operation.
  • Participate in safety training programs and promote a culture of safety within the fleet department.
  • Collaborate with other departments, such as logistics and procurement, to optimize fleet utilization.
  • Develop and implement strategies to minimize downtime and ensure the availability of vehicles for operations.
  • Prepare reports and presentations for management, highlighting fleet performance and recommendations.
  • Continuously seek opportunities to enhance fleet performance, reduce costs, and improve overall efficiency.
The Requirements:
  • IRTEC Certificate is essential
  • Working in a transport environment in same/similar role
  • Experience with low loader trailers is beneficial
