The global security landscape has become increasingly volatile, complex, and unpredictable. This requires top management and operational planners to have access to accurate, reliable, and timely information for optimal situational awareness and agile risk management, to preserve the security and safety of our guests and crew. It is the role of Fleet Intelligence, a component within the Security Department of MSC Cruises Cruise Management (UK) to deliver this.

As an Intelligence Analyst, you must be able to effectively monitor intelligence sources, specifically tracking global events that constitute a security risk to the company and its operations. You will appropriately identify significant events with implications for business operations across a variety of countries\\/regions. Being responsible for continuously assessing and reviewing intelligence requirements, gathering intelligence from relevant sources, and developing and disseminating reporting to provide situational risk awareness across the business.

Essential:

  • At least two years of professional experience in similar research and intelligence roles in a commercial, government, or academic setting.
  • Excellent spoken and written English.
  • Expertise in online research to identify relevant worldwide incidents.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail.
  • Experience with open-source intelligence sources, methods, and tools.
  • Highly organised, able to work at pace and against competing demands with minimal supervision.
Desirable:
  • Relevant Academic Background.
  • Previous maritime experience.
  • Knowledge of maritime operational security.
  • Proficient in statistical analysis and data presentation.
  • Proficient with Power BI and MS Office applications.
The Intelligence Analyst will be employed within the Fleet Intelligence Cell and report to the Fleet Intelligence Manager. Responsibilities include:

  • Conducting Open-Source Intelligence research, including collecting and analysing publicly available information.
  • Delivering situational awareness and other tactical\\/operational reporting to serve immediate response needs.
  • Proactively producing regional and country risk assessments based on both current and future operational areas.
  • Supporting the production of periodical report summaries, such as weekly and monthly threat reports.
  • Supporting data collection and visualisation of both the threat landscape and internal security incidents.
  • Collaborating with other departments on intelligence-related projects.
  • Deputising for FIM in their absence.
