As Fleet manager, you will take complete ownership of Halo's national fleet operations. This includes overseeing the legality, roadworthiness, safety, and efficiency of our HGVs, LGVs, and other fleet vehicles. You will play a critical role in compliance management, cost optimisation, and operational support across all sites. Your proactive leadership will ensure the smooth, safe, and scalable operation of the fleet, in line with business strategy and DVSA requirements.
The role will include but is not limited to;
Fleet Maintenance
- Schedule and manage vehicle servicing, inspections, and preventative maintenance.
Acquisition & Disposal
- Oversee new vehicle onboarding, de-fleeting, and damage management including cost recovery.
Vehicle Logistics
- Organise large-scale, time-sensitive vehicle movements between sites.
Compliance Management
- Ensure adherence to DVSA, O Licence, tax, MOT, insurance, and road safety regulations.
Driver & Penalty Oversight
- Monitor driver compliance and manage tolls, penalties, and charge allocations.
Data & Reporting
- Audit fleet usage, fuel, maintenance, and costs; track KPIs; maintain accurate records in fleet systems.
Policy & Strategy
- Develop fleet policies, safety protocols, and identify efficiency/cost-saving opportunities.
Training & Communication
- Train site teams, support locations, liaise with suppliers, and adapt policies to regulatory changes.
What are we looking for?
Essential:
Transport Manager CPC qualification.
Minimum 5 years' experience in fleet management, logistics, or operational environments.
Strong working knowledge of fleet compliance, vehicle regulations, and DVSA guidelines.
Proficient in Microsoft Office and fleet management systems.
Excellent communication, planning, and problem-solving skills.
Desirable:
Experience in customer service environments.
Industry qualification or accreditation in fleet/logistics management.
