Role responsibilities



This role is to provide strategic commercial and contractual leadership within the Transport for Wales (TfW) Fleet function, enabling accountable managers to effectively deliver the rolling stock service delivery agreements. The responsibilities include but are not limited to:

Accountable for the strategic leadership and co-ordination across all rolling stock service delivery contracts, leases and agreements underpinning TfW's multi-million-pound fleet operations. Identifying commercial risks and opportunities to fleet delivery within the management of the service delivery framework contracts and provide mitigation plans where required. Provide high-level expert guidance, mentoring and direction to Fleet team managers ensuring compliance with legal, regulatory and corporate standards. Co-ordinate with internal assurance teams and legal advisors as appropriate. Accountable for defining, implementing and improving standardised reporting processes for commercial performance using relevant KPIs and scenario modelling. Ensure that appropriate budgets are provisioned for rolling stock maintenance and servicing activities and commercial risks are captured. Provide commercial leadership on capital investment programmes including rolling stock refurbishment, overhaul and future procurement projects. Shape strategic procurement direction in alignment with TfW's long-term operational vision.

Who we're looking for



Demonstrable experience of building effective and collaborative relationships with 3rd parties or suppliers. Experience leading high value negotiations. Excellent communication and numerical skills. Ability to co-ordinate multiple competing a complex activities and prioritise effectively. Understanding of the rolling stock environment and relevant regulations and standards.

Welsh Language Skills



The ability to speak/write Welsh would make a great addition to your application, but it is not essential for this role.
