Next is one of the UK\'s best known high-street retailers and one of the most established online. Behind the scenes we are at the cutting edge of Warehousing and Logistics, employing more than 9000 people across our distribution centres.

Or success is dependent on the expertise and passion of our teams across the UK. Life at Next is full of challenges, it\'s fast paced and just like fashion trends is constantly evolving. We look after over 2 million customers; it takes a large, talented and efficient distribution operation to make that happen. Our continued success is dependent on the expertise, passion and adaptability of the teams across our distribution network.

Your Next Role

As a Fleet Team Manager at Next, you will work closely with the Operational Fleet Manager in the fast-paced and time critical transport operation to ensure that all assets are roadworthy and all statutory road transport legislation and O License requirements are complied with. As Fleet Team Manager you will monitor and investigate accidents and incidents, identifying Root Cause and implementing recommendations, monitor and manage the Defect & Damage reporting procedures in line with statutory and Company requirements.

You will manage our fleet levels having no more than 5% of our fleet off the road at any one time. Working closely and collaboratively with service providers, warehouse teams and transport operational teams, you will monitor and manage costs of our fleet, including repair and maintenance costs and will challenge providers where necessary.

You will manage both core and hire fleet: receiving assets, building and updating service schedules and maintenance plans. The Fleet Team Manager will also be the sign off for work permits and authority to work on our fleet

About you

The Transport department at Next is a fast paced 24 hour operation and so there will often be a need for you to act independently and to think on your feet. You will demonstrate the ability to manage changing priorities, working well under pressure and able to make sound, operational decisions. Your expertise is valued and as a Team Manager, you will need to search out solutions, drawing upon your previous transport management experience to lead the team.

Experience of fleet management would be an advantage for this role

If you\'re passionate, love never knowing what the day will bring and feel exhilarated working under pressure and to tight deadlines then this could be the Next step for you.

We recognise the key to our success is our people. Through our internal training programmes, we provide continuous development opportunities to help refresh your current management abilities and to realise your career ambitions.

About Us: You know Next, but did you know we\'re a FTSE-100 retail company employing over 35,000 people across the UK and Ireland. At the last count we have over 500 stores, plus the Next Online and it\'s now possible to buy on-line from over 70 countries around the world! So we\'ve gone global!

About the Team:
  • Sharesave scheme

  • Generous bonus scheme for many roles
  • Subsidised restaurants
  • Access to fantastic discounts at our Staff Shops
