Community Transport Sussex supports those that struggle to access mainstream transport to access services, health appointments and social activities. We are looking for people who can drive and are community minded, to support our community transport operation in the
Crawley area
.
We are looking for someone who wishes to work on an ad-hoc, flexible / zero hours basis.
This is a varied and flexible role which will include driving wheelchair accessible minibuses around the local area, predominately helping to transport SEND children and students to school or college on the morning and afternoon school runs. This role will also include supporting our Dial a Ride Programme by providing transport for local community groups & residents during the day to and from appointments, day care centres, shopping and / or to visit family & friends, day-trip excursions throughout the year.
Our normal hours of operation are between 07:00-17:30 Monday - Friday.
As one of our
Drivers
you will be driving wheelchair accessible minibuses around the local area, helping to transport older people in our community, those with disabilities, SEND children and local community groups on day trips.
Our ideal candidate will be someone who relishes variability and flexibility as you will be required to drive on various and different routes using any of our vehicles, sometimes at short notice. We may also require you to work from our Horsham Depot as well as any of our Depots which are based in West Sussex.
Ideally you will live in the Crawley area and within easy commute of the Depot.
You will need to have category D1 on your driving licence
(if you passed your test before 1997 you will have) The position will require an enhanced DBS check, which we will help you to apply for. Full training will be given in all aspects of the work.
