MCC Cardiff (Nantgarw) are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced
Flexo Plate Maker
to join our pre-press team. In this critical role, you'll be responsible for producing high-quality flexographic printing plates and roto-screen to support our fast-paced and high-volume printing operations.Key Responsibilities:
Prepare and process digital flexo plates using plate-making equipment (e.g. CDI, exposure units, washout machines). Ability to manufacture roto-screen and flat bed screens. Read and interpret job dockets, artwork, and printing specifications. Ensure plates and screens meet exact technical and quality standards before release to production. Maintain records of plate production and inventory. Conduct regular maintenance and calibration of equipment. Collaborate with the graphics and print teams to troubleshoot any issues with files or output. Follow health and safety guidelines and contribute to a clean, organized work environment.
Ideal Candidate:
Previous experience in flexo plate making or a pre-press role (preferred but not essential - training can be provided for the right person). Understanding of flexographic printing processes and materials. Understanding of roto screen and flatbed screen printing. Familiar with imaging systems, and plate processors (advantageous). High attention to detail and commitment to quality. Strong organizational and time management skills. Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
