Requirements of the Role

9-month fixed term contract

We're on the lookout for a motivated Flight Efficiencies Specialist to join our Flight Operations Technical team, reporting directly to the Aircraft Performance & Flight Efficiencies Manager. In this role, you'll play a key part in driving forward flight efficiency initiatives that help optimise fuel use, cut emissions, and keep operating costs in check. You'll be responsible for the reporting of these initiatives, digging into data, assessing both current and future strategies, and making sure everything aligns with easyJet's wider network and cost structure. From managing internal and external reporting systems to getting hands-on with ad-hoc projects and analysing flight efficiency data, this role is all about turning insights into real-world impact.


You'll be identifying areas for improvement in our reporting tools, spotting opportunities for fuel savings on specific routes or aircraft and staying across innovations in the industry that we can bring into our operation. Whether it's developing detailed reports for airports and management, keeping our Flight Operations community in the loop, or managing our SharePoint hub, your work will help power smarter, more sustainable flying.


You'll also support the team in driving engagement with our initiatives, working across departments, and evaluating the feasibility of new proposals. Regular check-ins with your manager and close collaboration with our team of Technical Specialists will keep everything aligned and moving forward.

What you need to do this role

We're looking for someone with strong analytical experience handling large sets of technical data, ideally within aviation. You'll need to be detail-oriented, organised, and able to stay focused under pressure. Clear communication, both written and verbal is key, especially when explaining technical topics. Collaboration is a big part of the role, so being able to work well with different teams to drive innovation and efficiency is a must.


You should be proactive, resilient, and able to juggle priorities in a fast-paced environment. Solid skills in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel, are essential. Bonus points if you've got a degree in an aviation-related subject like aeronautical engineering, experience in Flight Operations, or know your way around SQL or Python.

Location & Hours of Work

This is a full time, 9 month fixed term contract, 40 hour per week position. We support hybrid working and we spend three days per week in the office in Luton.
