Two full-time, permanent Floating Support Workers across our Support Accommodation sites in Newport. You will be required to work day shifts Monday - Friday, although flexibility is required.

About the role

This is a Floating Support Officer role delivering support across our Supported accommodation service, in Newport.


You will work with talented and experienced people who have a passion for supporting individuals experiencing challenging times whilst homeless. No two days are the same and it's especially rewarding when you are a part of an individual's development and growth.

Your day with consist of:

Conducting needs assessments and person centred support plans Provide practical and emotional support to the individuals you support Provide support around housing challenges, mental health issues, substance misuse issues and other complex needs. Assisting with sustaining and securing suitable accommodation Maintaining accurate and up-to-date records Developing your networking skills by working in partnership with external agencies Monitoring the safety of the shared accommodation sites including maintenance, Fire safety and daily checks Overseeing the day-to-day operations of the sites

Skills and Experience Needed

Previous experience in a similar role A passion and commitment to supporting vulnerable individuals and promoting independence and wellbeing Organisation and time-management skills Ability to work independently as well as part of a team A non-judgmental and empathetic approach

It is essential that the successful candidate has a drivers licence and access to a car
